SEATTLE SPACE NEEDLE

The SPACE NEEDLE is one of the symbols of SEATTLE and it is probably the most distinguishable piece of its skyline ... unless you decide that the SEATTLE SKYLINE is this one ...

... in this case I think the ONE WAY sign ... will challenge it ... :D

If you will visit SEATTLE you will read on the touring guide that the SPACE NEEDLE has been built for the 1962 WORLD FAIR and it is 600ft (i.e. circa 200m) tall. The NEEDLE can be probably defined as the SEATTLE SPACE AGE MODERNIST ICON (personally I prefer the ROCKET of the FREMONT neighborhood).

What you won't written anywhere is that picture wise ... it is probably best captured reflected on glasses or metals ... here a couple of picture I took yesterday ... in the first one the SPACE NEEDLE reflected on the EMP (EXPERIENCE MUSIC PROJECT from the architect GEHRY) ...

... and in the second one the ORIGINAL and the REFLECTION on a glass of the PACIFIC SCIENCE CENTER ...
