MODERN ART in TEXAS

Fort Worth, TX ... few miles west of Dallas, TX is hosting a wonderful MODERN ART MUSEUM ... and today I was lucky enough to have the chance to visit it ...

... like the KIMBELL MUSEUM that I visited last week ... it is just the right size for me ... not too big and not too small ... I love the design of this building ... there is a also a very scenic reflecting lake which is surrounding most of it ...

... giving to all the structure a more relaxing impact ... for the visit to the museum itself a couple of hours are more than enough ... at least they were for me. Here some of the best pieces I have seen today ... this is a Untitled, 2000 by the American artist Erick Swenson ... absolutely stunning to see ...

... I liked very much also this head ... its title is Male Head IV, 1995 by the American artist David Bates ...

... and here an other face ... more famous ... I love the colors of this Andy Warhol self portrait ... really nice ...

... today there was a Picasso exhibited ... here a kid playing in front of it ...

... and here some other visitors trying to understand what these pieces of art mean to them ...

... I believe that one of the reasons why I like so much modern art (and I really like it a lot) ... is that you can really "read" it, in the way that you like and any interpretation is as good as any other ... art and in particular modern art is supposed to create emotions ... and eventually increase the sensitivity of the viewer ... for example each of these pieces managed to create an emotion and a lot of ideas and interpretation in me ...

... again I am not sure if my interpretation of these pieces matches with the idea of the artist ... but in a way I don't care ... these pieces were able to create an emotion in me ... remind me of a place ... a person ... or created in memore awarness about my deily life ... I am not sure if I am making any sense here ... but that is it ... I think that is the goal of the artist himself ... create an emotion. And last but not least ... there is also this nice work of the Italian artist Pistoletto ... the title is L'Etrusco (The Etruscan) ... and the mirror is part of it ... you can use it like I did for some funny self portraits ...

i can't decide which i like the best. (and this is only a partial viewing of the museum :) ) the ladder is interesting to me ... but of course I guess I will go with the Pistoletto/Bonanomi work with the subtle mix of the modern with the ancient :)

very nice - which was your favorite?
