GEHRY in LA DOWNTOWN

Do you want to see Frank Gehry (i.e. the Architect) in LA downtown? You can. Or better, you can see his work. One of his works is here. And, for what I can understand, it is definitely a masterpiece. It is the Walt Disney Music Hall, home of LA Philharmonic Orchestra. Quite a convoluted, shiny and expensive house. We (Tina, Alfio & I) came here on Saturday. This is one of the stops of my personal LA tour, when I have friends visiting ...

... and it is definitely worthwhile. Pictures are easy to take, although it is difficult to appreciate the complexity of the construction if you have never visited it ...

... the reflections are definitely something that every photographer greatly appreciate, not sure if you like these pictures, though ...

... and the internal peaceful garden it is almost an oasis, if you think that you are in the middle of LA downtown. I am not sure what is the name of this flower. I was used to have the same tree in front of the building where I was living in Tel Aviv. And it reminds me of my first days there, I loved so much that tree ...

So what we were saying Gehry in LA downtown? Yes, this is Gehry in LA downtown. Quite a masterpiece. Every city should deserve this type of masterpieces. It is a pity that good architects are so expensive. I understand that it is a market, the more a professional is appreciated, the more he can demand. But there is a limit, I think. We should be less greedy. After all we will have to die. And if really we have a skill that can help other people to be happy, we should share it as much as we can. Before it will be too late. Mmmm ... again, probably I am just daydreaming.

Well, I was there, yet my human eye did not capture what your camera eye did, Andrea.
Yes, I remembered the red flowers and the curvilinear shapes of the building, but what about the communion of the natural shapes with the creations of human art in background? And the Baroque mixture of the natural colors with the artificial mirroring surfaces -admitting that we cannot really create colors on our own, but just reflect their beauty? And then again, did Gehry impart that textured boat-shaped profile on purpose? I did not even wonder back then, maybe overwhelmed by the many things we saw downtown; but your shot reveals so much more.
You talk of sharing skills, and that's what you did - by sharing your pictures! I do not think it's just daydreaming... maybe it's called Hope.
