Eight day of the Everest Base Camp Trekking. We are almost there. Today is the day. We will go from Louche (4,900 meters) to Gorak Shep (5,100 meters). We will leave our backpacks in the local tea house and in the afternoon we will go to either Everest Base Camp (5,400 meters) and / or to Kala Patar (5,600 meters) from where you can have the best view of Everest. The trek was pretty hard. Even if the total gain is only 200 meters we spent all day going up and down moraines created by the Khumbu glacier, the same where the Everest Base Camp is generally located. The day is perfect, and this is the view from our tea house in the early morning. Absolutely stunning ...
And these are some of the pictures of the wonderful scenery that you found on our way to Gorak Shep. Trekking here above 5,000 meters in the Himalaya, all the mountains around you are above 7,000 meters. You can really feel that you are trekking among giants. An amazing feeling ...And this is Gorak Shep. A small station for trekkers going to Everest. On the background the huge Pumori (7,145 meters). We will have lunch here and in the afternoon we will leave our backpacks for our trekking to the Everest Base Camp ...
